Distance - Estimated 22.5 km
Difficulty - Proceed cautiously on this 22.5 km out-and-back trail. This route is generally considered a highly challenging route and should only be attempted by experienced adventurers. 

 

This is an out-and-back route, there will be 3 checkpoints where you either can turn back or wait to be re-joined. 

The checkpoints are;

 

Pen Y Fan ~ 4k 

The Roman Road ~ 6.5k 

Carpark ~ 11.5k

Recommended Equipment -

• High ankle waterproof walking boots - Trainers will not be suitable, the ground is very rough and it may be very wet. 

• Quality walking/hiking socks - These will prevent blisters

• Warm clothing

• Waterproof jacket

• Gloves

• 2 Litres of drinking water

• Energy snacks & and a small lunch
